My
name is Raul Armando De La Cueva. I was born and raised in the San Fernando
Valley ( close to LA ), more specifically, Panorama City. My mom is from
Jalisco, Mexico and my father is from Zacatecas, Mexico. I have one younger
brother and one younger sister. I attended Granada Hills Charter High School
and James Monroe High School where I was a part of the Wrestling team, Cross
Country team, and the Track team. Outside of school I boxed at the YO! Valley
Boxing Gym. Boxing is my favorite sport, I started when I was five and I earned
a national title in the summer of 2013 at the 120 lbs. division. My major is
pre-bio and I want to go into Aquatic Bio and later on into Marine Bio. I want
to do research in the deep ocean and/or sharks. The ocean is an amazing place
that holds the answers to many unsolved mysteries still. My goal in doing
research in the deep ocean is to explore and find out what is still left out
there. Even in our age of technology and fast-paced research, less than 10% of
the ocean has been explored by humans. There is no telling what is out there
and I cannot wait to find out. Aside from learning about the ocean and boxing,
I also enjoy spending time with my family, the family of my girlfriend, and my
girlfriend of course.
